Indications
Adermitt is applied in various areas of skin and wound care:
- Incontinence-associated dermatitis: Protecting the skin from prolonged moisture caused by incontinence
- Wound edge protection: Safeguarding the periwound skin in chronic wound management
- Dry and cracked skin: Intensive care for severely dehydrated skin, e.g., on hands, feet, or elbows
- Pressure ulcers (decubitus): Preventive skin care to reduce the risk of pressure injuries
- Stoma care: Protection of the peristomal skin around a stoma
- Radiation therapy: Relief of skin irritation in the radiation field
Active Ingredients and Composition
Adermitt contains a combination of skin-caring and skin-protecting ingredients. Typical components include:
- Zinc oxide: Provides anti-inflammatory, drying, and skin-protective effects
- Dimethicone (silicone): Forms a water-repellent protective film on the skin, guarding against moisture and friction

Application and Dosage
Adermitt is applied externally only. The cream is applied in a thin layer to the affected or at-risk skin area. - Gently cleanse and dry the skin before application
- Apply a thin, even layer of the cream
- Do not massage into open wounds or broken skin areas
- Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes
Tolerability and Side Effects
Adermitt is generally well tolerated. Allergic reactions to individual ingredients are rare but possible. If a known hypersensitivity to any of the components exists, the cream should not be used. If redness, burning, or swelling occurs, discontinue use and seek medical advice.
Notes for Special Population Groups
Adermitt can generally be used by all age groups, including infants, elderly individuals, and patients with sensitive skin. For newborns and infants, use should only occur after consultation with a physician. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the cream is considered safe, although individual medical consultation is still advisable.
Storage
Adermitt should be stored at room temperature (15-25 degrees Celsius), protected from direct sunlight and heat. The cream should not be used after the expiry date printed on the packaging.
