Hylase ist der gebräuchliche Handelsname für Hyaluronidase, ein Enzym, das Hyaluronsäure gezielt abbaut.
In der Medizin und ästhetischen Dermatologie wird Hylase eingesetzt, um Hyaluron-Filler aufzulösen oder deren Wirkung zu korrigieren. Hyaluronidase spaltet die Polysaccharidketten der Hyaluronsäure, wodurch das Volumen rasch reduziert und das Material vom Körper abgebaut werden kann.
Der Einsatz von Hylase erfolgt vor allem bei Überkorrekturen, Asymmetrien, unerwünschten ästhetischen Ergebnissen oder Komplikationen nach Hyaluronbehandlungen, etwa bei Gefäßkompressionen. Die Wirkung tritt meist innerhalb von Minuten bis Stunden ein, abhängig von Dosierung, Injektionsort und Art des verwendeten Fillers. Hylase wirkt dabei nicht selektiv auf injizierte Hyaluronsäure, sondern kann auch körpereigene Hyaluronsäure im behandelten Areal abbauen.
Die Anwendung erfordert hohe fachliche Expertise, da Dosierung und Injektionstechnik entscheidend für Sicherheit und Ergebnis sind. Mögliche Nebenwirkungen sind Schwellungen, Rötungen, Druckschmerz sowie selten allergische Reaktionen. Vor der Anwendung kann ein Verträglichkeitstest sinnvoll sein. Hylase ist ein Notfall- und Korrekturinstrument und kein Routinepräparat für kosmetische Zwecke.
