L-Theanin ist eine natürliche Aminosäure, die fast ausschließlich in den Blättern von grünem und schwarzem Tee (Camellia sinensis) vorkommt.
L-Theanin ist bekannt für ihre ausgleichende, beruhigende Wirkung auf das Nervensystem, ohne dabei schläfrig zu machen. Es wird häufig als sanfte Unterstützung bei Stress, innerer Unruhe, Schlafproblemen oder Konzentrationsschwierigkeiten eingesetzt.
Im Körper beeinflusst L-Theanin verschiedene Neurotransmitter, insbesondere GABA, Serotonin und Dopamin – Botenstoffe, die für Entspannung, Stimmung und geistige Leistungsfähigkeit verantwortlich sind. Zudem fördert L-Theanin die Bildung von Alpha-Wellen im Gehirn, was einen Zustand ruhiger Wachsamkeit unterstützt.
