Panthenol – auch bekannt als Dexpanthenol – ist die alkoholische Form von Pantothensäure (Vitamin B5) und wird im Körper rasch in das aktive Vitamin umgewandelt.
Panthenol ist besonders bekannt für seine hautberuhigende, entzündungshemmende und wundheilungsfördernde Wirkung und findet breite Anwendung in Medizin, Kosmetik und Hautpflege.
Durch seine gute Penetration in die Haut unterstützt Panthenol die Regeneration der Epidermis, fördert die Hydratation und stärkt die Barrierefunktion der Haut. Es wird erfolgreich bei Schürfwunden, leichten Verbrennungen, Sonnenbrand, Ekzemen, aber auch in Lippenpflegeprodukten und Augentropfen eingesetzt. Panthenol ist in der Regel gut verträglich und für empfindliche Haut geeignet. Studien zeigen, dass es nicht nur die Zellneubildung stimuliert, sondern auch entzündliche Prozesse hemmen kann.
