Das seborrhoische Ekzem ist eine chronisch-entzündliche Hauterkrankung, die vor allem talgdrüsenreiche Hautareale betrifft und mit Rötung sowie schuppigen Belägen einhergeht.
Das seborrhoische Ekzem tritt bevorzugt an Kopfhaut, Gesicht, Brust oder im oberen Rückenbereich auf. Charakteristisch sind gelblich-fettige Schuppen auf geröteter Haut. Als begünstigende Faktoren gelten eine erhöhte Talgproduktion, die Besiedlung mit Hefepilzen der Gattung Malassezia sowie individuelle immunologische Reaktionen. Stress, Kälte oder hormonelle Veränderungen können die Beschwerden verstärken. Die Erkrankung verläuft häufig in Schüben.
Im Alltag zeigt sich das seborrhoische Ekzem häufig als hartnäckige Schuppenbildung, insbesondere auf der Kopfhaut. Im Gesicht können Augenbrauen, Nasolabialfalten oder der Bartbereich betroffen sein. Bei Säuglingen tritt eine Sonderform als sogenannter Kopfgneis auf, die meist harmlos ist und sich spontan zurückbildet.
Die Behandlung erfolgt meist mit medizinischen Shampoos, antimykotischen Cremes oder milden entzündungshemmenden Präparaten. Ziel ist es, Schuppenbildung und Entzündung zu kontrollieren, da eine dauerhafte Heilung in der Regel nicht möglich ist. Eine regelmäßige, angepasste Hautpflege kann helfen, Rückfälle zu reduzieren.
