CLN® has proven to have the highest purity and bioactivity
Lactoferrin CLN® is extracted with Europe's most advanced processing equipment, purified, and harmful contaminants (e.g., angiogenin) are completely removedWas ist LFERRIN Lactoferrin?
Lactoferrin is a multifunctional glycoprotein and as an immune protein older than humanity itself. We therefore see Lactoferrin as the ideal companion in the modern world. As infants, we already absorb it through breast milk. Thanks to the gastric acid-stable capsule, LFERRIN reaches where it is needed – the center of our immune system: the intestine.
As one of the most valuable proteins in the body, Lactoferrin is a natural component of the immune system. Its optimal effectiveness is only achieved with high purity. We achieve this with our LFERRIN through a state-of-the-art extraction and purification process.
Our species-appropriate Lactoferrin LFERRIN CLN® is produced in Germany using a high-tech extraction and purification process, in Europe's most modern processing plant, extracted and purified. Thanks to this gentle and complex process, LFERRIN demonstrably shows the highest Lactoferrin content and purity (97%+) compared to other products. At the same time, harmful Angiogenin is completely removed and depleted in CLN®. Although it is derived from milk or whey, even people with lactose intolerance can consume it.1
With Lactoferrin CLN®
you receive the protection of breast milk for adults: Lactoferrin is an immune protein older than humanity itself. Increased LF concentration is found in breast milk; already as newborns and infants, we absorb it through breast milk as the 'first immune system'.

Wissenschaftliche Hintergründe zu LFERRIN Lactoferrin
Lactoferrin is an endogenous immune protein and – older than humanity itself – a primordial substance of the human immune system. The first large portion is administered to humans via breast milk. Lactoferrin is produced in small amounts by the body itself and is found in nearly all bodily fluids, such as tears or saliva. Additionally, lactoferrin belongs to the group of transferrins, the so-called iron transporters, and possesses strong antioxidant properties.
All mammals produce lactoferrin. We obtain our lactoferrin resource-efficiently from cow's milk and purify the protein through a multi-stage, gentle purification process to filter out impurities. We use acid-resistant capsules to maximize absorption in the intestines. The capsule made of hydroxypropylmethylcellulose ensures that it is absorbed only in the small intestine, where it can unfold its full spectrum of properties.
Lactoferrin is one of the most valuable endogenous proteins and an essential natural component of the innate immune system and has various immune-regulating properties as well as strong antioxidant functions.

Häufig gestellte Fragen
What is Lactoferrin?
Lactoferrin is a natural protein and – older than humanity itself – a primordial substance of the human immune system. The first large portion is administered to humans through breast milk. Lactoferrin is produced in small amounts by the body and is found in almost all bodily fluids, such as tears or saliva. Since human and bovine (cow's milk) lactoferrin are nearly identical (chemically similar), we extract the protein from cow's milk. Additionally, lactoferrin belongs to the group of transferrins, the so-called iron transporters.
If humans have only received lactoferrin through breast milk in their history, why should we take it as adults today?
Our immune system is designed for middle age, not the old age that many people reach today. Furthermore, it has never faced so many challenges like environmental pollutants or everyday stress. On top of that, we move far less compared to our ancestors. In terms of nutrition, we also dont always get enough of the nutrients that are important for us. Over time, this can be stressful and place a significant strain on our immune system.
How is lactoferrin obtained and why is it purified?
All mammals produce lactoferrin. We obtain our lactoferrin resource-efficiently from cow's milk and purify the protein using a multi-stage, gentle purification process to filter out impurities. This removes, for example, attached parts of bacteria and their components. To prevent lactoferrin from becoming useless in stomach acid after ingestion, we use an acid-resistant capsule. It is thus only absorbed in the small intestine, where it can unfold its full spectrum.
Can lactoferrin be used during pregnancy?
Our lactoferrin can be taken during pregnancy and breastfeeding after consulting with a doctor or therapist. Since we predominantly use natural substances in all our products, we are one of the safest brands.
Is the cow's milk from which Lactoferrin CLN® is obtained organic milk?
No, we do not source our lactoferrin from organic milk, but we ensure the highest quality when selecting our dairy supplier. The reason is practical: To produce lactoferrin in large quantities, more organic milk would be required than dairies typically produce. Our lactoferrin comes from whey, a by-product created during cheese production.
Since lactoferrin is obtained from cow's milk, can I just drink milk?
Unfortunately, no, because the lactoferrin present in very small doses per liter in regular milk is destroyed during the processing of (H-)milk.
Is lactoferrin also suitable for children?
In principle, our products are developed for adults. However, lactoferrin is absorbed through breast milk and is also added to many baby foods and infant milk formulas. It is recommended to consult with the treating pediatrician.
Is it beneficial to additionally supplement iron?
Iron salts as supplements are poorly bioavailable and often cause side effects (gastrointestinal issues). We recommend our NATURAL IRON, which has been developed with lactoferrin as transferrin and plant-based curry leaf iron. Plant-based iron is metabolized through a separate receptor pathway and is more tolerable and bioavailable. The included vitamin C enhances iron absorption.2
What is the difference between colostrum and lactoferrin?
Colostrum (also called colostrum) is the first milk that mammals produce after birth. This special milk contains a variety of vital and defense substances such as vitamins, minerals, and immune proteins that support the newborn in building a stable immune system. An important component is lactoferrin, an iron-binding protein that inhibits the growth of certain bacteria and strengthens the immune defense. In contrast to colostrum, which provides a complete nutrient profile for initial supply, lactoferrin is an isolated immune protein that is also found in other bodily fluids such as saliva. In dietary supplements, cow colostrum is often used because it resembles human colostrum and is well-tolerated. Only the excess amount, which the calf does not need, is used for colostrum and lactoferrin products.
What is Apo-Lactoferrin or Holo-Lactoferrin?
Lactoferrin, a versatile glycoprotein, primarily exists in two forms: iron-unsaturated (apo-lactoferrin) and iron-saturated (holo-lactoferrin). Apo-Lactoferrin has the ability to effectively bind iron, developing antimicrobial properties by depriving pathogenic organisms of essential iron. Holo-Lactoferrin, on the other hand, already contains bound iron and promotes iron absorption in the body. Both forms are essential for regulating iron metabolism and strengthening the immune system.
Accordingly, for iron deficiency or iron-deficiency anemia, iron-saturated holo-lactoferrin (NATURAL IRON) is recommended, while for supporting the immune system, the immunoregulatory properties of iron-unsaturated apo-lactoferrin (LFERRIN) are emphasized.

CLN®: An Immune Protein Without Compromises
CLN® is synonymous with uncompromising quality and is reflected in the entire product portfolio, not just Lactoferrin, by artgerecht. The purity of lactoferrin is essential to ensure that the body can utilize it optimally.
Through an elaborate purification process, lactoferrin is preserved in its natural, pure, and bioactive form. The result is a highly pure lactoferrin that uncompromisingly retains all the positive properties of this immune protein and provides natural support for your immune system.
CLN®: Purer than Infant Formula
Lactoferrin CLN® is produced, processed, and purified to over 97% under strict standards.
Lactoferrin, as a natural component of the immune system and breast milk, is now added to infant formula. For comparison, the international standard for lactoferrin supplementation in baby food is only 95%.
CLN®: Free from Contaminants
Lactoferrin CLN® is not only purer than comparable products, but also completely free of angiogenin and endotoxins due to the purification process. This is measured using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC).
It is also free from harmful additives, artificial fillers, colorants, or preservatives that could burden the body.
CLN®: Highest Bioactivity
In addition to purity, the bioactivity of lactoferrin plays a crucial role. Only bioactive lactoferrin can be optimally absorbed and utilized by the body. Therefore, CLN® relies on a two-stage, gentler manufacturing process to ensure that the natural structure and functionality of the immune protein are preserved.
On a molecular/biochemical level, this means no protein fragments, no denatured protein.
