This special form of nutrition is based on an extremely low-carbohydrate, high-fat and moderate-protein diet. The aim is to put the body into a state of ketosis, in which it uses fat instead of carbohydrates as its main source of energy.
It can be a real game changer for our health if tailored to the individual and used optimally: „At its core, it is about training the metabolic flexibility of our body: Our body has to learn again to switch quickly and flexibly between energy production from carbohydrates and fat“, explains the biologist and Master of Science in Clinical Nutritional Medicine.
