Iron deficiency or iron deficiency anemia is one of the most common micronutrient deficiencies worldwide, affecting about 2 billion people. Iron deficiency is usually caused by insufficient intake through diet, meaning that not enough of this trace element is absorbed through food.

How does iron deficiency occur?

Which foods have a high iron content?
