health nerds – Der Podcast über artgerechtes Leben

We have received many questions about the current podcast episode: Emotions: How joy, sadness, fear, anger, disgust and surprise affect our health. Here in the HEALTH NERDS consultation hour, our experts from the species-appropriate science team provide answers:

“Why does sport make us so extremely emotional?”

“Is it possible to unlearn learned emotions such as disgust for certain foods?”

“Why do humans only cry for emotional reasons?

“Can empathy be learned?”

“Do the stress and gut-brain axis influence our emotions?

Thank you very much for your questions about our latest podcast episode “Emotions: How joy, sadness, fear, anger, disgust and surprise affect our health”. Matthias Baum from the artgerecht HEALTH NERDS science team provides answers here in the consultation hour.

On the main episode: Our emotional world is something that defines us humans and accompanies us throughout our lives. Emotions are an essential element of human experience and they profoundly influence our perception, our thinking and our behavior. But what evolutionary advantage do emotions give us? Even before language emerged, our ancestors were able to communicate fear, disgust, anger, joy, sadness and surprise non-verbally. We delve into the depths of our emotions and discover something astonishing: around ten percent of people are unable to deal with their emotions, they are emotionally blind and suffer from alexithymia. How does science define emotions? Where exactly do they arise? Are emotions anchored in our genes? Can they be measured? And why are emotions so extremely important when it comes to our health? HEALTH NERDS. Man, simply explained.

After each regular episode, you can simply send us your questions via Instagram Direct Message as a voice message or via text. On the following Thursday you will receive the answers in the HEALTH NERDS consultation hour.

We look forward to your input!

art right, health nerds – man, simply explained.
