What happens after the RESET? Part 2: Nutrition tips
„What do I eat now?“, „Do I still have to cut back?“, „Is cheese allowed now?“, „Can it be a glass of red wine? “… Perhaps one of these questions is also going through your mind right now, perhaps a similar one. You are not alone! Many such concerns reach us daily from the community – because many have just finished their RESET or are about to complete the program.
We recently recommended a few supplements that can support your diet after the RESET. This time, however, we would like to turn our attention to the food itself and give you some tips on how you can make your nutrition successful even after the RESET.
Please always remember: these are recommendations, not strict prohibitions or bans. You always have the option of adjusting your nutrition plan according to your individual needs. After all, you know your body best and know what is good for you or not - at the latest now that you have done a RESET. And off you go:
With a mainly species-appropriate diet you are already doing well. This means that the focus is on species-appropriate, high-quality food - if possible, use seasonal and regional foods. Of course, there can also be exceptions – for example, you can follow the 80:20 rule (you eat 80% species-appropriate and 20% something else) or make exceptions on a daily basis and then consciously enjoy them. (For a more detailed list of foods, see below.)
Great food variety: If you continue to make sure you eat as much variety as possible, this will not only please your palate, but also your whole body. This is because you cover your nutrient requirements very well.
Low meal frequency & intermittent fasting: This means a maximum of 2-3 meals a day within 8 hours. Followed by a 16-hour break. This gives the immune system a break and has a positive effect on insulin metabolism. Please note: Women's energy stores are somewhat lower than those of men. So, if you are a lady and notice that you are very hungry in the morning and have little energy, treat yourself to a breakfast! Fasting for 12-13 hours may already be enough for you.
RESET once a year: Fundamentally, it makes sense to take a month once a year to intensively support your gut and health with RESET. This is particularly suitable for the New Year, after the Christmas holidays and New Year's Eve, but is generally not limited to one season and works at any time.
Food after RESET:
Fundamentally, it is not our aim to say that you should give up this or that food completely. Food is also there to be enjoyed. Nevertheless, here are a few recommendations:
We only recommend eating extracellular carbohydrate sources in moderation – in descending order: rice, potato, buckwheat, oats, spelt/barley/rye, wheat.
The focus should be on intracellular, fiber-rich carbohydrates – i.e. vegetables, especially root vegetables, for example.
Lentils are ok in moderation. We recommend boiling them well, as this destroys the saponins, which can damage the intestinal wall.
Avoid soy products if possible.
View milk as a luxury food. We tend to recommend fresh milk or raw milk (if you have a source). Not every coffee should be drunk with milk
.The same applies to dairy products: good sources and in moderation.
Instead of &oil such as sunflower, safflower or rapeseed oil, it is better to use olive oil;oil (if a more neutral taste is desired - from second pressing / fried olives), walnut oil and coconut oil.
If possible, avoid prepared meals and fast food. Or simply check the ingredients and see if there is a better alternative. Or make your own pizza and burgers.
Fattened meat should be avoided – prefer species-appropriate (game) meat here, but generally consume it rather rarely.
Drinks: Cut down on soft drinks and juices - if it has to be juice, then preferably freshly squeezed from vegetables. You can also use water to stretch juices and make them healthier.
Alcohol: of course only in moderation. And pay attention here: Alcohol is also a meal and interrupts intermittent fasting. We would recommend red wine with lots of tannins.
You know: exceptions prove the rule. But if you make exceptions, do so with a lot of pleasure and without a guilty conscience!
