Scientific background about Natural Iron
Iron deficiency or iron deficiency anemia is one of the most common micronutrient deficiencies worldwide, affecting about 2 billion people. Iron deficiency is usually caused by insufficient intake through diet, meaning that not enough of this trace element is absorbed through food.
In addition to dietary deficiency, intestinal diseases or other inflammatory conditions can make iron absorption more difficult or disrupt its distribution in the body.
Furthermore, increased stress, physical activity, or growth phases (children and adolescents) can increase the bodys need for iron. Women who experience heavy menstrual blood loss, as well as those who are pregnant, may also suffer from iron deficiency. However, the exact cause is best diagnosed by a doctor.
Lactoferrin acts as an iron transporter and immune protein, which, in combination with vitamin C, supports iron absorption. FerroPlant®, a special natural curry leaf extract, contains at least 3% iron compounds. How does iron deficiency occur?

Which foods have a high iron content?
Iron is primarily found in red meat such as beef, veal, and game, as well as in organ meats. Eggs also contain a certain amount of iron (especially in the yolk). Iron is also present in plant-based foods, particularly in (free-range) foods such as green vegetables, various nuts and seeds, as well as herbs and beetroot.
Are there specific physical signs of iron deficiency?

Does NATURAL IRON replace the intake of lactoferrin?
The applications for lactoferrin are vast and vary in dosage, method of intake, and combination with other ingredients. What is Apo-Lactoferrin or Holo-Lactoferrin?

Apo-Lactoferrin has the ability to effectively bind iron, developing antimicrobial properties by depriving pathogenic organisms of essential iron. Holo-Lactoferrin, on the other hand, already contains bound iron and promotes iron absorption in the body. Both forms are essential for regulating iron metabolism and strengthening the immune system.
Accordingly, for iron deficiency or iron-deficiency anemia, iron-saturated holo-lactoferrin (NATURAL IRON) is recommended, while for supporting the immune system, the immunoregulatory properties of iron-unsaturated apo-lactoferrin (LFERRIN) are emphasized.
