In this episode, we take a scientific look at dietary supplements: Which nutrients such as vitamins or minerals does our body actually need? ""Deficiencies can occur, especially with an unbalanced diet, physical exertion, pregnancy, stress or switching to a vegan or vegetarian diet, for example,"" explains health scientist Matthias Baum. Supplements promise to replenish empty nutrient stores. But it's not that simple.
