health nerds – Der Podcast über artgerechtes Leben
Every third German has problems with the thyroid! A tiny organ in our throat that – when malfunctioning – significantly worsens our health. Those affected suffer from severe mood swings, weight gain, constant tiredness, missed periods or water retention in the body.
A particular form of permanent thyroiditis is called Hashimoto's disease. When our own immune system attacks our body, which is the case with Hashimoto's, experts refer to it as an autoimmune disease. For Daniel Reheis from the health nerds science team, the thyroid gland is the body's finance minister and therefore has an enormously important function. Find out exactly what it does, how we can easily determine whether we also have problems with the thyroid, and why aluminum in particular is a risk factor for autoimmune diseases in this episode.
Daniel also encourages all those affected: we can get thyroid problems under control again! He provides us with concrete, tangible tips that can also help with all other autoimmune diseases.
And brand new with us: the health nerds consultation hour! You can now send us your questions on the topic as a voice message or as a text message on Instagram: Do you want to know more about a specific autoimmune disease? Do you have questions about thyroid disease or specifically about Hashimoto's? You will then hear the answers from our health experts in the podcast on the following Thursday in the health nerds consultation hour.
Art right, health nerds – Man, simply explained.
