Things worth knowing about "Bioresonance Diagnostics"

Bioresonance diagnostics is an alternative medicine method that aims to measure and analyse electromagnetic oscillations in the body in order to detect illnesses or intolerances.

What is Bioresonance Diagnostics?

Bioresonance diagnostics is a method used in the field of alternative and complementary medicine. It is based on the assumption that every cell, organ, and tissue in the human body emits characteristic electromagnetic oscillations. A bioresonance device is said to capture these oscillations via electrodes or hand grips and analyse them to detect signs of illness, metabolic disorders, allergies, or food intolerances.

The method was developed in the 1970s by German physician Franz Morell and electrical engineer Erich Rasche. Their original device became known under the name MORA. Since then, numerous variations and further developments have been introduced to the market.

Principle of Operation

According to the concept behind bioresonance, every biological structure in the body emits specific electromagnetic frequencies. Electrodes placed on the body are said to pick up these signals and transmit them to a measuring device. The device then analyses the so-called endogenous oscillation patterns and attempts to distinguish between healthy and disturbed frequencies.

In diagnostics, disturbed or pathological frequency patterns are interpreted as indicators of illness or bodily stress. Some bioresonance devices also return so-called counter-frequencies (inverted oscillations) to the body in order to neutralise interference fields. This therapeutic aspect is referred to as bioresonance therapy and is distinct from the diagnostic application.

Areas of Application

In practice, bioresonance diagnostics is frequently used for the following purposes:

  • Detection of food intolerances and allergies
  • Identification of environmental toxins or heavy metal burdens
  • Detection of suspected parasite infections or chronic infections
  • Analysis of general health status
  • Support for smoking cessation programmes

Scientific Evaluation

From the perspective of conventional medicine and science, bioresonance diagnostics is considered non-evidence-based. There is no sufficient scientific evidence that bioresonance devices can reliably detect or diagnose diseases. Controlled clinical studies have so far been unable to demonstrate efficacy beyond a placebo effect.

The following critical points are raised by conventional medicine and regulatory authorities:

  • The theoretical concept (measuring endogenous electromagnetic oscillations for diagnostic purposes) is not physically or biologically substantiated.
  • The reproducibility of measurement results is not established.
  • Clinical studies show no superiority over random chance.
  • There is a risk that necessary conventional medical diagnoses and treatments may be delayed or missed entirely.

Risks and Important Notes

Although bioresonance diagnostics is considered physically non-invasive and does not involve harmful radiation or substances, it carries indirect risks:

  • Misdiagnosis: False-positive or false-negative results can lead to an incorrect assessment of a person's health status.
  • Delayed treatment: Patients may postpone necessary conventional medical examinations and therapies.
  • Financial cost: The costs of bioresonance sessions are generally not covered by statutory health insurance providers.

Patients who are interested in alternative medicine methods should always regard them as a complement to, and not a replacement for, a conventional medical diagnosis. Anyone experiencing health complaints should always consult a qualified physician first.

Distinction from Bioresonance Therapy

Bioresonance therapy refers to the therapeutic use of a bioresonance device, in which modified frequencies are fed back into the body to harmonise disruptions. Bioresonance diagnostics, on the other hand, is limited to the diagnostic analysis of frequency patterns. Both procedures are widespread in alternative medicine but are not recognised by evidence-based medicine.
