Things worth knowing about "Cell ageing"

Cell ageing is a central biological process that is associated with the gradual loss of function of individual cells.

Aging cells no longer divide, react less to stimuli and can release pro-inflammatory substances. This condition is referred to as cellular senescence and is closely linked to chronic diseases immunodeficiency and tissue degeneration - especially in the context of age-related diseases such as cancer, arteriosclerosis or dementia.

A key driver of cell ageing is oxidative stress - an imbalance between free radicals and protective antioxidants. The shortening of the telomeres (protective caps at the ends of the chromosomes) is also considered a biomarker for cellular ageing. In addition, environmental toxins, UV radiation, chronic stress and a nutrient-poor diet impair cell integrity and accelerate degenerative processes.

Modern approaches to slowing down cellular ageing rely on cell protection through diet, exercise and micronutrients. Particularly effective are substances such as OPCSpermidineCoenzyme Q10AstaxanthinNAD+ precursors or also Fasting protocols that promote autophagy (cellular self-cleaning). The aim is to activate cellular repair mechanisms and protect the organism from premature ageing.

Main causes of cell ageing:

  • Oxidative stress by free radicals
  • Shortening of the telomeres
  • Chronic inflammation (inflammaging)
  • Lack of regenerative nutrients
  • Environmental toxins, UV radiation, Stress

Strategies for cell rejuvenation:

  • Nutrition with a high content of antioxidants (e.g. polyphenols)
  • Fasting and calorie restriction to activate Autophagy
  • micronutrients such as coenzyme Q10spermidineOPCAstaxanthinMagnesium
  • Adequate sleep and circadian rhythms
  • Exercise to promote mitochondrial function
