Chiropractic treats functional disorders of the spine with targeted manipulations. Find out when it makes sense and what you should look out for.
Chiropractic is a field of manual medicine that deals with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system particularly in the area of the spine.
Through targeted, usually jerky hand grips (""adjustments""), so-called ""blockages"" in joints and restore mobility to the joints. The aim is to resolve neuromuscular dysfunctions and activate the body's self-healing powers.
Chiropractic is based on the principle that dysfunctions of the joint mechanics, especially in the spine, can have an influence on the nervous system and therefore on the entire body function. Typical areas of application are back pain, neck tension, headaches, sciatica, temporomandibular joint problems and posture problems. When performed correctly by a qualified therapist, chiropractic is considered effective and low-risk, but requires precise indications.
In addition to manual therapy, we recommend exercise-promoting measures, a balanced diet, if necessary micronutrients. micronutrients such as magnesium, Vitamin D, Omega-3 fatty acids or Lactoferrin, to inflammatory processes and to regulate and support muscle function. Ideally, chiropractic should be embedded in a holistic concept - especially for chronic complaints.
