A full human pregnancy typically spans 10 fetal months, totaling approximately 280 days or 40 weeks of gestation.

Distinction from Other Time Units

The fetal month, by contrast, is primarily used in classical embryology and anatomical textbooks to divide fetal development into clearly defined phases.
