Hämaturie bezeichnet das Vorhandensein von Blut im Urin, das mit bloßem Auge oder durch eine mikroskopische Untersuchung sichtbar gemacht wird.
Hämaturie kann ein Symptom für verschiedene Erkrankungen der Harnwege sein und wird in zwei Arten unterteilt:
- Makroskopische Hämaturie: Das Blut im Urin ist mit bloßem Auge sichtbar und gibt dem Urin eine rote oder bräunliche Färbung.
- Mikroskopische Hämaturie: Das Blut ist nur durch ein Mikroskop oder spezielle Urintests erkennbar, ohne dass der Urin sichtbar verfärbt ist.
Ursachen für Hämaturie sind vielfältig und können von harmlosen bis zu schweren Erkrankungen reichen. Zu den häufigsten Ursachen gehören Harnwegsinfektionen, Nierensteine, Blasenentzündungen, Verletzungen der Harnwege oder gutartige Prostatabeschwerden bei Männern. Seltener, aber ernstzunehmender sind Tumore der Nieren oder Blase, glomeruläre Erkrankungen der Nieren oder Blutgerinnungsstörungen.
Symptome, die mit Hämaturie einhergehen können, sind Schmerzen beim Wasserlassen, häufiger Harndrang oder unspezifische Bauch- oder Flankenschmerzen. Die Diagnose erfolgt in der Regel durch eine Urinuntersuchung, Ultraschalluntersuchungen der Nieren und Harnblase sowie ggf. durch eine Blutuntersuchung, um die zugrunde liegende Ursache zu bestimmen. Die Behandlung hängt von der Diagnose ab und kann von einer einfachen Antibiotikatherapie bis hin zu chirurgischen Eingriffen reichen.
