Water (H₂O), for example, features a polar covalent bond that falls between homopolar and heteropolar, because oxygen has a significantly higher electronegativity than hydrogen.

In physics and electrical engineering, homopolar describes machines or generators in which every point of the rotating conductor always passes through the same magnetic pole field. The most well-known example is the homopolar generator (also called the Faraday disk), developed by Michael Faraday in 1831.
Homopolar Generator
A homopolar generator produces a direct current (DC) voltage by rotating a conductive disk within a magnetic field. Because the polarity never reverses, a continuous direct current is generated without the need for commutation. These machines are used in applications requiring very high currents at low voltages, such as electrochemistry and certain industrial processes.
