Wissenswertes über "Infusion"
An infusion is an effective method of administering fluids, nutrients or medication directly into the bloodstream.
Infusions are often used to quickly supply the body with essential substances, especially if oral intake is not sufficient or the gastrointestinal tract is to be bypassed. In conventional medicine, infusions are essential for the supply of fluids and electrolytes, for administering medication or in cases of deficiencies. The iron infusion for the treatment of iron deficiency anaemia and the vitamin infusion, which delivers high doses of micronutrients directly into the bloodstream, are particularly well known.
The iron infusion is used in particular for severe iron deficiency when oral iron intake is ineffective or not tolerated. It offers a quick way to replenish iron stores and alleviate symptoms such as tiredness, hair loss or concentration problems. In naturopathy, vitamin infusion is used as a targeted micronutrient therapy to strengthen the immune system, reduce oxidative stress and support cell regeneration. High-dose vitamin C infusions are frequently used, particularly for immunomodulation, chronic inflammation or to support detoxification.
In addition to the classic iron infusion, there are many other therapeutic infusion forms. A vitamin infusion with B vitamins, magnesium or zinc is often used to support fatigue syndromes, burnout or for general regeneration. Antioxidant infusions with glutathione help to neutralise free radicals and strengthen the cell protection system. In orthomolecular medicine, customised vitamin infusions are combined to specifically compensate for deficiencies and improve physical and mental performance.
Researchers are also showing increasing interest in the integration of lactoferrin in infusion therapies. This iron-binding glycoprotein has immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory properties and could be used as an adjunct to iron infusion or to support gut health. As infusions allow nutrients to be absorbed quickly and directly, they are a valuable addition to both conventional medicine and naturopathy.
The vitamin infusion and the iron infusion are proven methods for targeted nutrient supply and can be individually adapted to the patient's needs. They offer an effective way to compensate for deficiencies, strengthen the immune system and supply the body with essential micronutrients.
