Long COVID, auch bekannt als Post-COVID-Syndrom, beschreibt eine Vielzahl von anhaltenden oder neu auftretenden Beschwerden, die Wochen bis Monate nach einer akuten COVID-19-Infektion bestehen bleiben.

Typische Beschwerden bei Long COVID sind anhaltende Erschöpfung (Fatigue), Konzentrationsstörungen ("Brain Fog"), Atemnot, Herzrasen, Muskelschmerzen, Geruchs- und Geschmacksstörungen, Depressionen oder Angstzustände sowie eine insgesamt verringerte Belastbarkeit im Alltag. Die genauen Ursachen sind noch nicht vollständig geklärt, jedoch spielen chronische Entzündungen, Autoimmunprozesse, Gefäßveränderungen und anhaltende Virusbestandteile eine Rolle. Behandlung von Long COVID
