Rosehip extract comes from the rosehip fruit of the dog rose. It is rich in vitamin C, antioxidants and flavonoids but cannot be eaten directly from the bush.
Rosehip powder contains important active ingredients such as galactolipids, which consist of sugars and fatty acids. Rosehip powder is said to have a variety of positive properties, including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and membrane-stabilising effects. The vitamin C content of rosehip is around 20 times higher than that of a lemon, and vitamin C promotes iron absorption. Rosehip powder also contains numerous minerals, including the trace elements copper and zinc.
