What is Staphisagria?
Staphisagria (also spelled Staphysagria) is a homeopathic remedy prepared from the seeds of the plant Delphinium staphisagria, commonly known as stavesacre or larkspur. The plant belongs to the Ranunculaceae (buttercup) family and is native to the Mediterranean region. In classical homeopathy, Staphisagria is regarded as one of the most important remedies for both emotional and physical injury.
Mechanism of Action and Homeopathic Concept
Homeopathy is based on the principle that highly diluted substances can relieve symptoms similar to those they would cause in undiluted form. The seeds of stavesacre contain the alkaloid delphinine and other toxic compounds in their raw state.
