Trans-Resveratrol ist die biologisch aktive Form des pflanzlichen Polyphenols Resveratrol, das vor allem in der Schale roter Trauben, in Beeren, Erdnüssen und in geringem Maß auch in Rotwein vorkommt.
Trans-Resveratrol gehört zu den Phytoalexinen, also den Abwehrstoffen, die Pflanzen bei Stress bilden. Es wird seit Jahren im Zusammenhang mit Zellschutz, gesunder Alterung und Entzündungshemmung intensiv untersucht. Dabei gilt die trans-Form als besonders stabil und bioverfügbar.
Im Körper entfaltet Trans-Resveratrol seine Wirkung vor allem durch antioxidative und entzündungsmodulierende Effekte. Es neutralisiert freie Radikale, schützt die Zellmembranen und kann Enzyme aktivieren, die mit Langlebigkeit in Verbindung stehen (z. B. Sirtuine). Studien deuten darauf hin, dass Resveratrol die Funktion der Mitochondrien unterstützt, die Gefäßgesundheit positiv beeinflussen und sogar neuroprotektive Effekte haben kann. Dies macht es zu einem beliebten Stoff in der Longevity- und Anti-Aging-Medizin.
Trans-Resveratrol ist als Nahrungsergänzung in Kapsel- oder Pulverform erhältlich. Die tägliche Dosierung liegt meist zwischen 100–500 mg, abhängig von Ziel und Präparat. Da der Gehalt in Lebensmitteln gering ist, sind hochreine Extrakte (z. B. aus japanischem Staudenknöterich) besonders gefragt. Besonders bei chronisch-entzündlichen Erkrankungen, oxidativem Stress und zur Unterstützung der Gefäßgesundheit wird Trans-Resveratrol gezielt eingesetzt.
