Angiogenesis refers to the new formation of blood vessels from existing vessels. This physiological process is essential for wound healing, tissue supply, organ development and reproduction. At the same time, angiogenesis also plays a central role in pathological processes, in particular in tumour growth, chronic inflammation and eye diseases.
