A chiropractor is a specialist in the manual treatment of functional disorders of the spine and musculoskeletal system.
The aim of chiropractic work is to release so-called "blockages" in joints - especially in the spine - by means of targeted adjustments .spine - through targeted adjustments and thus alleviate pain, restricted movement or neurological irritation. Chiropractors often work on an interdisciplinary basis with doctors, orthopaedists and physiotherapists.

- Collaboration with doctors or other therapists in complex cases

- Chiropractor (alternative practitioner): Not state-regulated, practice-dependent
- Chiropractors (academic): Internationally recognised training
- Doctors with a chiropractic supplement: state-regulated, usually integrated into orthopaedics
