Key diagnostic criteria mirror those of behavioral addictions in general: loss of control, tolerance development, withdrawal symptoms, and significant negative consequences in daily life.

Treatment of smartphone addiction is primarily psychotherapeutic in nature:

Digital Detox and Self-Help Strategies
