Legal Framework
In Germany, the Infection Protection Act (Infektionsschutzgesetz, IfSG) provides the legal basis for vaccination records. Loss and Renewal
If a vaccination booklet is lost, vaccination records can in many cases be re-issued retroactively by the treating physician or public health office, provided the vaccinations were documented. It is therefore advisable to keep a copy of the vaccination booklet. In some cases, missing vaccination records can be supplemented by antibody testing, which indirectly confirms immune protection.
