Each Yes answer scores one point. The total score ranges from 0 to 4:

- 2 or more points: Clinically significant indication of alcohol misuse or dependence; a more thorough diagnostic evaluation is strongly recommended.
A threshold score of 2 or more is widely regarded in clinical literature as a positive screening result, indicating potentially harmful alcohol use.
