What is Sermorelin?
Sermorelin is a synthetically produced peptide that closely resembles the naturally occurring growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) in the human body. It consists of the first 29 amino acids of endogenous GHRH and stimulates the pituitary gland to increase the secretion of growth hormone (GH). Sermorelin belongs to the class of GHRH analogues and is used for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
Mechanism of Action
Sermorelin binds to specific GHRH receptors in the pituitary gland, activating somatotropic cells that are responsible for the production and release of growth hormone. Unlike direct administration of recombinant growth hormone, Sermorelin stimulates the body's own growth hormone production in a physiological manner.
