Oncology

Understanding the chemokine profile has led to the development of novel therapeutic approaches. Chemokine receptor antagonists selectively block specific chemokine-receptor interactions and are used across various indications:
- Maraviroc: A CCR5 antagonist used in HIV therapy, as CCR5 serves as a co-receptor for HIV entry into immune cells.
