This protects the skin from sunburn and reduces the risk of UV-induced skin damage.
It is important to note that phenylbenzimidazole sulfonic acid provides protection only against UV-B radiation and does not filter UV-A rays. For broad-spectrum sun protection, it is typically combined with additional UV-A filters in cosmetic formulations.

Environmental and Health Considerations
In recent years, there has been growing debate about whether chemical UV filters such as phenylbenzimidazole sulfonic acid can penetrate the skin and enter the bloodstream.
