In complementary medicine, it is considered a herbal alternative to antibiotics and is used orally, externally or for disinfection. The active ingredient complex it contains consists of bioflavonoids, ascorbic acid and various polyphenols, which are said to have a broad-spectrum effect against pathogenic microorganisms - including Candida albicans, E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus and parasites.
