SAMe is considered one of the most important methyl donors in human metabolism and participates in more than 100 biochemical reactions throughout the body.

SAMe performs three key biochemical roles in the body:
- Transmethylation: SAMe donates methyl groups to DNA, RNA, proteins, phospholipids, and neurotransmitters. This process is essential for gene regulation, cell repair, and the synthesis of key brain chemicals such as serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine.
