Diagnosis

- Slit-lamp examination of the eye
- Blood tests (e.g., kidney function, thyroid levels, allergy testing)

Treatment
Treatment depends on the underlying cause:
- Allergic eyelid edema: Antihistamines (topical or systemic), allergen avoidance, and corticosteroids if needed.
- Infectious eyelid edema: Antibiotic eye drops or ointments; systemic antibiotics in severe cases.
- Traumatic eyelid edema: Cold compresses, elevation of the head, and decongestant measures.
- Systemically caused edema: Treatment of the underlying condition (e.g., heart failure, kidney disease).
