Administration must always be carried out by trained medical professionals. Some formulations also contain adrenaline (epinephrine), which constricts blood vessels, prolongs the duration of action, and slows systemic absorption of the anaesthetic.
Side Effects and Risks
When used correctly, local anaesthetics are generally well tolerated. Possible side effects include:
