Persistently elevated arterial blood pressure, known as arterial hypertension, is one of the most common chronic conditions worldwide. Causes of Hypertension
- Primary (essential) hypertension: no single identifiable cause; involves genetic and lifestyle factors

Measuring Arterial Blood Pressure
Blood pressure is typically measured non-invasively using a sphygmomanometer applied to the upper arm or wrist. In clinical settings, invasive intra-arterial monitoring may be used for continuous real-time pressure tracking.
