- Ginkgo biloba can prolong bleeding time and should be discontinued prior to surgery.

Distinction from Dietary Supplements
Phytotherapeutic agents must be clearly distinguished from dietary supplements containing plant ingredients. Consumers should therefore check whether a product holds authorization or registration as a medicinal product.
