Pre formula (also referred to as Pre milk or stage Pre infant formula) is a specialized starter infant formula designed for newborns and infants from birth. Pre formula is strictly regulated under European and international food safety standards and must meet specific nutritional requirements to support the healthy development of infants.

Pre Formula vs. Follow-On Formula
Follow-on formulas (e.g., Stage 2 or Stage 3) are designed for older infants from 6 months of age and have a different nutritional profile. Pre formula, in contrast, is suitable from birth and tailored to the specific needs of newborns.
Usage and Preparation
Pre formula can be given from birth through the end of the first year of life. It is particularly suitable when:

Preparation follows the manufacturer's instructions, typically by dissolving the powder in previously boiled water cooled to approximately 40–50 °C. Prepared formula should be used immediately and not stored.
