What is Pterostilbene?
Pterostilbene is a naturally occurring polyphenol belonging to the stilbene chemical class. It is structurally closely related to the well-known compound resveratrol, but differs by having two methoxy groups instead of hydroxyl groups. This structural difference gives pterostilbene greater bioavailability and lipophilicity. Pterostilbene was first identified in sandalwood and is found in particularly high concentrations in blueberries, cranberries, grapes, and peanuts.

Safety and Possible Side Effects
Pterostilbene is generally considered well tolerated at moderate doses. Some studies have noted slight increases in LDL cholesterol at higher dosages, which remains a topic of ongoing research. Other possible side effects at very high doses include:
